That’s a really impressive list Brad.
One item that I saw on your list, quinoa, is something I just tried for the first time a few days ago. The look and taste are quite different in my opinion. Initially, I thought it would taste similar to rice, but once I tried it, I got a distinct “veggie” taste from it. Super interesting, and definitely a good side dish.
Here’s an interesting question for you though:
Let’s say someone just decided to make the switch to eating whole foods instead of super processed junk. Obviously, most people won’t be able to go out and get that entire list in order to restock their kitchen. What are the primary foods from the list someone should get first?

Great question Robert. Primary foods to focus on include meats, poultry, fish, veggies, fruit, nuts, and seeds. Think primal.

Brad,
Great article. The more I learn about nutrition the more I realize that the smartest option when it comes to eating for health, is to eat food as close to it’s natural form as possible. Nothing refined, nothing processed.

You got it Niko. I had an “off” day of eating yesterday and feel gross this morning. I jumped right back into eating whole foods for breakfast this morning and I’m feeling energized and refreshed almost instantly.

Hi Brad,
What’s you take on soy protein? I don’t see it on the list so I’m guessing you against it.
Good Article to share.
